I got caught in the middle of a fox hunt yesterday...

Reckoning [Edit] [Delete] 10:21, 8 October '10

I was standing on a hill looking at birds, subconsciously aware of this yapping going on a few fields back when suddenly loads of bastard hounds came running past. Then the horns kicked in and before i knew it, i was an innocent bystander unwittingly forming part of a 'hunt' landscape. Dogs were sniffing me, toffs weren't acknowledging me (aside from perhaps assessing by saboteur potential), and everything was a little tense. I'd seen a fox round there a couple of weeks previous, and thought at the time how handsome he was, so my fingers were crossed for the wily beast. After a while, the dogs were called off apart from a couple of dumb hounds who decided to bugger off into the distance (i imagined they'd be voiced by ashton kutcher and matt le blanc if this were a pixar movie). Then, and to great joy and relief, the fox came a-strolling, in the opposite direction to the dogs, and made its way to some dense forestry, where i like to think it sparked up a cigar and tucked into a gourmet pheasant sandwich. In reality, it'll probably get shot today.

FOX-HUNTING.
