I went to my friend's wedding this weekend and cried for what I think is the third time since I was a child, which is great, because I was beginning to suspect I was a bit dead inside. It wasn't during the service, but during the speeches, when the groom switched into Swedish to talk to his parents... he started to go, his dad started to go, and I have no idea what he was saying, but I went too.

The other two occasions were when I was about 16 and drunk and my friend Geoffrey irreperably scratched m pristine guitar, and after university when my long-distance girlfriend sent me a crushing "Dear John" email.

(PS: Thanks to everyone for your advice with my reading - it went okay, just about! It was a bit of an out of body experience - my voice was good, I read it well, but I was physically shaking, the worst since my driving test years ago. Only the people in the front row could see it though (their faces panicking as I slowly fell apart) but everyone else seemed to think it went well, or at least told me it did...)
