you remember the brits in 1999. when belle and sebastian shocked the world and beat steps, 5ive, cleopatra (coming atcha!) and gomez to pick up the best british newcomer gong from zoe ball and huey morgan? well, it was all a fix. loads of internet geeks voted for them, and it worked.
