Star Wars question (answers to be based on accepted canonical Sw universe please) -

countzero [Edit] [Delete] 19:32, 10 November '10

The Glactic Empire has all the normal civilian branches as well as military etc etc...

Also the creation of the Empire out of the Republic has a legislaive basis, no? Therefore it cannot be called an illegitimate entity by the Rebel Alliance. So on what basis did the Alliance rebel? Because the planets voted against their wishes or because it was obvious that the Sith destroyed the republic?

I ask this because I'm not sure that the officials of the Empire know that they are working directly for the Sith. Legally they are maintaining a government voted for by all the constituent planets.

Is George Lucas therefore advocating the violent removal of governments just because we don't agree with them?
