so this is what it is. it seems that the idea is that people have opinions and values and that then informs the way they act. it's the other way round though isn't it? people are doing all sorts of actions and events and then they base their opinions on what they have done do that they can remain justified. it's easier. i can see why people would do that. obviously it's better for everyone to pretend that opinions come first but let's get real. time to stop pretending.
