Computer nerds plz help.

ethricdouble [Edit] [Delete] 20:57, 9 February '14

Yesterday my soundcard went apeshit while I had phantom power on and think it sent some kind of a surge through my PC as my USB ports went mental for a bit and things have been a bit buggy ever since. Sound card is now borked but managed to carry on working with other means today but then my PC was being quite unresponsive so I rebooted and now I'm getting CHKDSK type stuff when I boot up and there are problems like unreadable sectors, etc. on my C: drive.
How should I even proceed from here? Is a reinstall even going to make any difference if I can't be sure my C: drive is reliable? Should I just get a new drive? Pay a pro to fix it?

Help.

N.B. Things I've already tried:
- bowl of rice
- post office
- delete my sys32 folder
- barrel roll
- SOAWJO
- quite a lot, of course a lot is 'smug' from me
