Ex-smokers - how did you feel in the first couple of weeks?

ModestGrouse [Edit] [Delete] 23:17, 14 February '14

Hi,

Mentioned this in another thread but figured that it might be worthy of a thread of its own in case anyone else is kicking the habit, or thinking about doing so.

Been off the cigs nearly two weeks after smoking pretty much every day for 7-8 years. Admittedly I've been using one of those e-cigs a hell of a lot, which I find is great for alleviating any cravings. Anyways, I've had flu-like symptoms (dry cough, runny nose, sinus pain) and my teeth/jaw have also been hurting.

Today was probably the first time since packing in that I noticed a difference health-wise. I have to walk up a massive hill every day which usually leaves me out of breath, but I managed it easily, and it definitely made me realise that I'm on the right track.

I've been a pretty irritable little shit though (more so than usual anyways), and I'm hoping that will eventually subside too.

Tell me about how/when/why you quit smoking!
