Buying a Suicide House?

Rrachel [Edit] [Delete] 22:36, 17 February '14

Dear people of DiS, I would like your unbiased opinions as do not want to ask too many people that actually know me.

So, I have been in the process of buying a house, found a place needs a little work, not a huge amount, cheapest in the neighborhood by a little bit, previous purchaser dropped out at the last minute. My offer was accepted and have gone on with the searches etc.

I half smelt a rat, but my googling didn't reveal anything - now I have discovered that the previous resident hung himself in the house. Was an older man with health and money issues by all accounts - apparently a nice man though.

Anyway, now I know why previous purchaser dropped out. I can't decide whether I am creeped out or not? I am at the point of signing the contract ready for exchange, but I am hanging fire for the moment. My pragmatic side says lower my offer even further and spend the money on getting it done up professionally so there is no trace left. My girly side says drop out of sale. Thoughts???
