This super catastrophic "the world is going to end" iOS security flaw

Does anyone know if earlier versions of iOS are also vulnerable?

Like, I still run 5.1.1, because last time I updated to an iOS more recent than my model of phone, everything slowed to the pace of a snail swimming through tar. A newer iOS will probably require me to update iTunes too, and that'd suck.

So I don't really wanna go up even to 6.1.6, let alone 7.0.6. Is my phone safe from the haxxorz if I stick with 5.1.1?
