Words known in the UK but not in the US, and vice versa
here's another thread based on that word-knowledge experiment that we've already had two threads about.
This time, we're talking cultural differences (aka Racism if we want 100+ replies)
Not surprised the word 'coonskin' is better known in the US than the UK tbh.
The difference in US-based knowledge to UK-based is pretty massive. Americans have a lot of words 90% of the UK (responders) have never heard of. (I know 8 of them) Vs. words with a maximum of 26% that no-one in the US had heard of. (probably didn't phrase that very well)
Anyway - is this interesting?
