I have decided, after years of shaving with Gillette razors (everything from the Mach 3 through to the Fusion ProGlide Power), to switch to using a double-edged safety razor. My aim is mainly to minimise razor burn/ingrown hair issues.

Do you shave this way? If so:

- How much learning does the technique take (to avoid regular nicks, etc.)?
- Do you enjoy shaving this way and are the results good?
- How long do you spend on a shave?
- Any tips and tricks that you wished you'd known when you were starting out with a safety razor?
- AOB?

I'm quite looking forward to it. It somehow seems cooler than just cracking out some shaving gel and a Fusion ProGlide for five minutes.

*Ladies of DiS are of course welcome in this thread, but I don't think any of you will have the requisite facial-shaving experience to answer my questions.
