I would have to go with Taxi Driver, the film that got me into films. I've never understood why critics usually say Raging Bull is Scorsese's best (and one of the best films ever made), although maybe that's because I read the reviews before watching it and raised my expectations too high. Maybe from a cinematography point of view it's an important milestone, but even as a film hobbyist I'm not sure how one watches it for pleasure.
