I've not really planned anything which is very unlike me, and there have been no "recent" (like within the last couple of years) threads on Thailand.

I like:
food
snorkelling
seeing animals you can't see here
good train journeys
old ruins and temples and shit like that

Please use the above to recommend places to go. We have 2 weeks. I'm mainly wondering a) is Chiang Mai worth the trip north and b) which island(s) to go to [caveat: *nothing* party party party. Would prefer quiet].
