There is no Czech word for wisdom

saps [Edit] [Delete] 11:24, 27 January '15

I was at a wedding anniversary party recently and was introduced to my cousin's au pair (or something) and her partner who are both from the Czech Republic.

I was saying that I was older but not wiser than my cousin (you know, because I'm a twat) and they clearly didn't understand what I meant. So I said 'wiser' it means having more wisdom.

Still blank.

"It's a kind of intelligence that you gain with age and life experience. So, you might go to an older relative and ask them for advice because they have more wisdom."

They said, "I don't think we have a word for that in Czech".

I've googled it and the Czech word for wisdom is 'moudrost'.

Fucking idiots.
