She really likes botanical/floral-y names for girls (she has another daughter called Ivy) but she's having a bit of a crisis of conscience. She reckons that flowers are only valued for their appearance and fragrance and are ultimately useless. She got really cross at the heteronormative idea that only females are given flower names, presumably because males are not prized above all for their "aesthetic qualities" (her words). Feel pretty bad for Ivy :(
