shit! mobile phone company owes me 350 nicker (tldr)
Just changed phone contracts and checked my bank statement and there was this 16 quid direct debit in there along with my new one. Naturally I thought that they must still be charging me for the one I'd just swapped for the new one...
Nope, I called up and apparently it was the contract I had BEFORE the last one, for a number I haven't used in 22 months and a sim that I'd given back to the phone shop when I got my old phone.
Obviously I was surprised because I thought that one had ended 2 years ago. Obviously I also asked for a full refund of all the charges because they could see from the account that it hadn't been used in all that time...
But, this company now say that it's my fault because I hadn't noticed sooner, claiming it's my responsibility to monitor my phone bills and that the shop aren't able to cancel a contract for me and id have to have called up to do it.
Bullshit. My responsibility starts and ends with paying my bill every month, which I did. I shouldn't have to check up on them that they've done what they said they would, right?
So I think they owe me 22 months of money back. Yeah?
(I did go into the shop a few times and ask why my bill was so large and they told me it's cause I overused my data, which I also foolishly believed)
Thanks for reading, I know it's been a boring trawl
