If you trust IMDB and the like it would suggest so - almost every new show gets like a million stars.

TV certainly *seems* in better nick than cinema atm and slowly attracting better stars and that.

But would someone rate a show they've just seen/finished higher than one they're remembering from before the internet era? I doubt something like Mr Robot or the Dragons and Boobs show will stand the test of time tbh.
Make some generalisations below.
