I just finished 1984. Bleak as fuck. But I loved it mainly as its a existential, political and a bit of a thriller. I also liked the fact it revolves around one guy surrounded by madness. Much like Catcher in he Rye is one guy surrounded by what he thinks is madness.

So based on these vague and difficult to pigeonhole traits, give me book recommendations you eggheads.
