Our first 3 Reds v Blues games this year all contained a fair amount of silliness, including 35 goals, terrible tackles and too many bloopers that many of us would prefer to erase from memory. So we have two choices: continue with this trend or go back to playing the game properly. The choice is yours.
Regarding international friendlies, we have been approached by the beancounters of Ernst & Young who would like to play us. Negotiations over a suitable date are ongoing. I have penciled in two additional friendlies, and opponents should be announced in due course. See below for dates.
The usual blurb:
- we play on a full-sized astro-turf pitch
- changing rooms, showers and toilet facilities are available
- 5 min walk from Caledonian Road tube station (Piccadilly line)
- bus 91 and 259 stop around the corner on Caledonian Road, bus 274 stops in front of the ground
- arrive at 11:30 AM for warm-up, tactics discussion, pre-match fags, team pictures, etc.
- kick-off at 12 PM sharp
- full 2 x 45 minutes and injury time + 15 min break
- one team will play in red shirts, the other in blue
- everyone can participate, the skills on display are wide-ranging
- final teams will be announced in the week leading up to the game
- 5 pounds each will be collected on the day
- post-match analysis in the nearby Hemingford Arms pub
