was having my usual saturday coffee + a cake + reading type thing a few weeks back and accidentally sat next to two people discussing their wedding plans with their wedding planner

the planner was like - ok, now the admin was out of the way i need you to explain how you met and notable events and stuff like that

and the story was just the usual "well we both worked in the same office. initially i was going out with his mate darren but then we split up and not long later we ended up just doing the same pub quiz and going to subclub together a bunch. idk we never even discussed 'dating' or seeing each other it just happened. then eventually we just defaulted into getting married as it seemed a normal thing to do"

made me really depressed for some reason (and not just because i couldn't concentrate on the book i was reading)
