Mine red-ringed a few months back.

I've seen a cheapo one in CEX that doesn't have a hard drive. If I understand it properly, the red-ringing is a fault of the console, not the hard drive? So if I buy that one and put my hard drive into it, it'll be fine, right? And I can go back to dying horribly on the last XCOM mission?
