Stand By Me

Huggy_Bear [Edit] [Delete] 14:08, 8 June '16

This was kind of my favorite film throughout my childhood and teenage years, I think I must have watched it nearly 20+ times or something. I think the whole background of the kids lives resonated in me somewhere, that sense of freedom and abandonment was something that was attractive to a 14/15 year old.

I watched it for the first time in about 15 years the other day, maybe half expecting to identify with the lives of the characters or maybe just the older Gordie in a different way this time being in my 30's now. And the other half expecting it to have aged badly. In the end, it kind of left me feeling unattached in any way to them. I dunno what to think of it, I still love it but think mostly for nostalgic reasons.

Would love to hear other peoples thoughts?
