I couldn't think of a good thread for this but it made me do a lol:

A supplier was on the train on their way to a meeting with my department. We'd basically agreed to give them the (massive) contract and this meeting was a formality.

Someone from our other office was on the same train on the way to the same meeting, a few rows in front of the supplier. The supplier was on the phone, and was talking about how the meeting he was on his way to was a done deal because the people he was meeting were "a bunch of donkeys".

We didn't let on, strung them along for a few more months, then went with someone else.
