Plenty of action from yesterday to pontificate about, but we have no time, we must move on.

Today sees medal action in the women's team archery, women's cycle road race, women's diving, men's fencing, judo, women's shooting, swimming and weightlifting.

Team GB's favourites include controversial Lizzie Armitstead (cycling), Colin Oates (judo) and world record-breaking Adam Peaty (swimming). For the Dutch all eyes are on Anna van der Breggen and Marianne Vos (cycling).

Bit early to look at the medal tables, but so far Australia is in the lead, followed by Hungary and USA.
