Defrosting your freezer, a warning

Antpocalypsenow [Edit] [Delete] 10:33, 26 August '16

Hello friends, yesterday I returned home after a 10 day break to discover a freezer disaster. I had been putting off defrosting it for ages to the extent where it was becoming a struggle to close the door properly thanks to frost build up.

Unfortunately it seems that the last person to use the freezer before we left hadn't ensured the door was fully sealed and the freezer had become a total shambles over the last fortnight. Spent yesterday evening defrosting the fucking thing and throwing away an entire freezer's worth of goods having just gone to work straight from the airport on no-sleep after 24 hours in transit.

Please, if you've been meaning to defrost your freezer for a while, just do it. It's better to do it on your own terms than to be caught out like I was. The one thing I hope is that others can learn from my experience.
