when a friend and I were castigating some frankly irritating people from University who came from Yorkshire we got thinking about any likeable famous people from North Yorkshire and all we could think of was Alan Tit-marsh, Geoff Boycott and Dickie Bird (highly offensive people) - can anyone think of any one famous who is likeable?

Not south Yorkshire or Bolton (Lancs) Jarvis, Fred Dibnah etc - all ace ace people.
