Floods & Hurricanes for Reading / Leeds
sean by Sean Adams August 24th, 2004
Why does it always rain on festival weeks? Weather warning a-hoy!

Rain. Sun. Rain. Sun. Thunder. Cloudy. Lightning. More Rain. Floods. Gales. Sunny spells. That's the weather outlook. DiS has heard one of the car parks at the Reading festival site is currently looking like part of the Thames.

Mean Fiddler, the organisers of the Carling sponsored bank holiday events, are urging ya'all to be prepared for downpours. A spokesperson said: "So far this month we have had 10 times as much rain as this time last year and it looks like more is coming. It is essential festival-goers bring sufficient changes of clothes, wet weather gear and camping gear to stay dry."

"In addition please, please, please use the trains and National Express. Much of the car parking is forming part of the River Thames at the moment and we may have to use some edge of town park and ride schemes."

Weather.co.uk 5-day forecast for Reading can be found here. And Leeds here.

However, if you're getting a Train from London, please remember that they're doing friggin' engineering works. So you need to go via Waterloo. Full details here.

In other news, Squarepusher has cancelled his dance stage headline slot. Full DiS weekend preview to follow.
