RFTC RIP
NickyC by Nick Cowen September 6th, 2005
San Diego's favourite sons, Rocket From The Crypt, are splitting up. I know what you're thinking; "First Hot Snakes, now this? This is a wind-up, surely?" Guess again, meatball. Sadly, this is on the level.

In a message on RFTC's website, Swami Impresario and the band's frontman, John Reis (aka Speedo) had this to say:

"On Halloween night in San Diego, Rocket from the Crypt will be playing our farewell show. After 16 years of scars and ear damage all in the name of spreading goodwill and the Rock N Roll doctrine, we will take the stage for the last time on our favorite day of the year.

"We know that it is very difficult for those around the world to be with us for this celebration, but we invite all that have been a part of this awesome ride to come out one more time and give it up for the band."

Details on a number of different ticket-buying deals are featured on the RFTC website. Some of these include a hotel room as part of the purchase. But unless you're in the States, or happen to have a flippin' great wodge of cash in the bank that you've been saving up for the end of an era in punk rock, you're stuffed.

And that sadly, is that.
