Moreno calls the music "very nocturnal, droney, ambient. It's pretty experimental. I'm writing short, pop songs for the project, and blending organic sounds with electronic equipment. It's kind of Massive Attack-ish." The album is expected to be the first release through Tone Def, the Deftones imprint label through Maverick Records. No date has been set for the release.
In other Deftones news, Chino Moreno was taken to an emergency room in his hometown of Sacramento on Sunday (July 15) due to a severe sore throat. The group was forced to cancel its sold-out show that night in town.
