The Futureheads will toast the completion of their third record – previously reported here - with two tiny live dates.
The quartet will play at London’s King College on the 29th of November and then at Sunderland venue Independent on the 6th of December.
Ross Millard from the band also informs us that the first 200 people through the doors at each show will receive “a white-label 7” single of two of our new tracks, remixed by some of music’s ‘top dawgs’ – no joking. We’re only making a few hundred of these vinyls, so they will be crazy-collectible. I hope I get one.”
To be in with a better chance of getting in, sign up for the band’s mailing list (click) before 3pm tomorrow (Tues 6 Nov) – subscribers will be able to buy tickets from 9am on Weds 7th November.
Others will have to wait until 9am the next day, when they go on general sale from the band’s MySpace page and website.
Millard ended the transmission with a message of defiance for any fans worried over the band’s post-Warner future:
“Now that we’re out of all major-label clutches, we can call the shots on what we do, and when and where we do it, a lot more - so keep your ears to the ground and I’ll give you a shout back when we’ve got other important news to break.”“It’s going to be a busy time for the band,” he continued: “and with us striking out on our own with this next record, I’ll be doing my best to keep you up to date with everything that’s going on in the world of the futuremen – it’s a promise.”
