Amy Winehouse slammed by UN
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly November 19th, 2007

Amy Winehouse has come under attack from the United Nations.

No surprises for what’s brought the organisation’s wrath – no oil hoarded or regimes overthrown. Just “a sniff here and a sniff there” of third world cocaine.

Antonio Costa pointed the finger at Winehouse as well as model Kate Moss, Europeans who the head of the UN's Drugs and Crime Office says are aiding in the construction of new trade routes through West Africa from Colombia.

"Look at Kate Moss, who still receives lucrative contracts after she was photographed sniffing. Amy Winehouse became popular by singing 'I ain't going to rehab’ even though she badly needed and eventually sought treatment.”

He went on to suggest that the increase in cocaine abuse in the UK – which has reportedly doubled in the last decade – is adding to social crises in Africa.

"A sniff here and a sniff there in Europe is causing another disaster in Africa, to add to its poverty, its mass unemployment and its pandemics.”
