Dananananaykroyd defiant after record is shelved
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly January 24th, 2008

Glaswegian jerk rockers Dananananaykroyd have spoken to Drowned in Sound about the what and why nots behind the aborted release of recent EP Sissy Hits.

The record is, by all accounts, well worth it – this review and the comments left beneath it the most obvious testimonial, swelling crowds at live shows in their home city and beyond a more fleeting example of the band’s appeal.

So what’s stopping you offering up your product, Dananan?

“Dananananaykroyd have been told by Jealous Records that due to financial restraints on them and also over at their distributors, our forthcoming E.P Sissy Hits won’t be getting released. As you can imagine we are all really disappointed by this, we were really excited about showing it off and getting out on the road for a wee while and playing it hard style.

“I can tell you that we are in the process of picking out our route in which to release it, and we promise that you will get AT LEAST an E.P from us in the (hopefully) very near future. If not this E.P then something bigger! We are still confirming our little mini tour that was supposed to support the release of Sissy Hits and we still fully intend to go through with it, so come out and say hi! Thanks for the support and keep yr eyed peeled!
