Is your sweater on? Vampire Weekend cancel UK dates due to illness
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly February 27th, 2008

Vampire Weekend have cancelled the last two dates of what was their current UK tour.

The reason? Illness, the band saying the lergy had been “following them around for a while and now it finally caught up with us.”

But, while shows at Manchester and Glasgow have been binned off, the band have added a slew of North American dates to their schedule.

“We're very sad to announce that we have to cancel this week's shows in Manchester and Glasgow due to illness. We were very psyched to come, but at least we'll be back in May,” begins a ‘blog posting on the band’s MySpace.

“We sincerely apologize to anyone who was planning on seeing us. Hope we can make it up to you in a couple of months.

“Please send positive health vibes our way.

“Best, Ezra”

Like Koenig says, Vampire Weekend will return to the UK in May – check here for details.
