Readers, aware, Tom Clarke’s been spouting again.

Over what or whom? This time the fluids are dripping from the unsettled mugs of Arctic Monkeys and Muse.

The Enemy frontman’s been attacking the former for their success at the BRIT Awards last month, saying that the event had “turned into the Arctic Monkeys show” and that the band were the easy option for BRITs bosses playing it safe.

“It's disappointing the Arctic Monkeys were given loads of awards,” Clarke told the Mirror after Alex Turner’s mob took away prizes for Best British band and Best British album.

"They only won so much because the bosses knew it wouldn't offend anyone.

"I suppose you can't begrudge them one award,” he continued, though not specifying which. "They have had one good album and one average one but they haven't done anything special this year."

If Clarke had managed to work out the dark motives working behind the scenes at the BRITs, he seemed more confused at the prospect of Muse.

“I like Muse, they’re brilliant. Musically they’re genius.

“But they are not the sort of band you can love from your heart, because the lyrical content ain’t there. You don’t know what they’re on about.”

He went on to laud the Manic Street Preachers and Oasis for being ‘people’.

“Manics don’t muck about with sh*t metaphors – they get straight to the point.

“Bands like Manics or Oasis you can really associate with. It’s obvious what they’re about. They are real people.”
