Reading and Leeds Festival have sold out in record time.

All weekend tickets are now GONE – so, if you previously harboured a desperate urge to see the likes of Metallica, Tenacious D, Slipknot, Feeder and Avenged Sevenfold one after the other you’ll have to resort to day tickets, touts or, preferably, Kerrang!.

Melvin Benn was happy. As you would be I suppose if you were the man who just sold 200,000 tickets to your party in two hours.

Melvin: “I am over the moon! Absolutely thrilled. 20th year since we took over Reading after it had been bankrupt. 10th year since we created Leeds. The UK's biggest selling festival with the best bill on the planet this year sells out in less than 2 hours.

“Whoever is talking about a slump in festival popularity is talking rubbish. Long live Reading and Leeds!'”
