Seattle post-hardcore quartet These Arms Are Snakes - who toured the UK alongside Pelican last year with DiS as a sponsor - have signed to local indie Suicide Squeeze for their third LP after two albums and an EP for Jade Tree.
The band's third album is scheduled for release in October - October 7 stateside, with a UK date to follow - with production duties to be handled by drummer Chris Common, whose beyond-TAAS credits include Minus The Bear.
Having toured with the likes of Blood Brothers, Hot Water Music, Mastodon, Cursive and Isis - as well as the aforementioned instrumetal outfit from Chicago - you'd have thought TAAS didn't have too many haters. Seems not: a post on their MySpace site dated April 9 reveals that former Dead Kennedys dude Jello Biafra doesn't rate them. Well, their name. These Arms Are Snakes are a prime example of a "bad emo band name", apparently.
LOL @ Jello. Recording for album three, currently untitled, begins on May 9 in Seattle, with tour dates sure to follow the record's completion. Find the band on MySpace here.
