Following a high-pressure media campaign by comedian Phil Kay, The Darkness are now set to open the main stage on the second day of the festival. Rock.
DiS darlings Idlewild and The Flaming Lips have also said "aye, we'd like to play, if you don't mind." And there was much rejoicing at this news.
The King Tut's tent sees new additions by Sunderland's new wave things The Futureheads. The Basement will make an appearence too, and Snow Patrol come out of hiding as Gary Lightbody takes a break from the Reindeer Section (hmm, sure that's meant to be the other way round), to make a welcome return.
And to finish off for now, Hell Is For Heroes will get the kids moshing, The Roots will get crowd jumping, and Turin Brakes will make people do whatever people normally do at Turin Brakes gigs.
As usual, more info and the full lineup so far can be viewed at tinthepark.com.
