Biffy Clyro: Singer in Hospital After DiS tour excess
sean by Sean Adams March 28th, 2003
Simon hoped he was an angel and ended up fucking up his ankle..

Biffy fans, alongside DiS readers, at Wednesdays totally sold out tour climax show at Glasgow QMU were a bit miffed that the band didn't come back on for an encore and that Simon ended up in Hospital after the show.

In a report from Neil, the biffyclyro.com webmaster, we found out exactly what went on...

"At the end of the show, Simon had climbed up the PA stack, whilst singing the last song, 'Now The Action...'. Right at the end, he jumped quite high off the stack and landed on the stage pretty badly... He was then taken to hospital, where it was discovered he'd badly sprained his ankle, which is pretty bad, but obviously better than a broken ankle. The show itself was fucking incredible... about 1000 people singing every word to every song, generally louder than the band! "

In other Biffy news, the band's new single, from their forthcoming album, 'The Ideal Height' is out this week and is our record of the week. From rumbles we've heard, it's in the top 40, midweek.

We'd also like to thank everyone who came along and supported this tour, all the bands, all the promoters, all the nice people at Beggars and all of you who came along and rocked out. Also sorry to all the people who didn't manage to get tickets for any of the shows, a lot of them were sold out. The next DiS tour is likely to be a few dates with Meanwhile, Back in Communist Russia.. in May, currently London DiS @ Underworld (5th), Bristol(18th), Exeter DiS night @ The Cavern (19th), and Glasgow DiS night @ Barfly (31st).

DiScuss: Insert your get well soon messages below. What did you think of the tour? How loud are Span?
