Guildford: Carina Round, McRae, Darkness, Princess Superstar..
sean by Sean Adams May 3rd, 2003
Guildford (or Guilfest as it's now known) ain't just 3 days of 3-scousers doing covers yuhknow, there's some alright stuff goin' down too..

"Alright"? Well, more like ideal festival acts, playing Stoke Park on July 4th, 5th and 6th, like the Patti-Smith'ish brummy singersongwriterstar Carina Round (interviewed) and the baby sitter that every big boy wants, Princess Superstar. Not to mention The Darkness (who've also been added to the Isle of Wight bill!) on the same stage as the original Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper. Genius!

The eclectic line-up - that you'd expect of Glastonbury before it got all commerical, with more to be announced, is as follows...

Friday 4th July
Main Stage: Alice Cooper, Love with Arthur Lee, The Darkness and The Wildhearts.
Uncut Magazine Stage: Cosmic Rough Riders, Ozomatli and Carine Round
Dance Tent: Bez (Happy Mondays - Laptop & mic) and Clint Boon.

Saturday 5th July
Main Stage: Madness, The Stranglers, Skin (Skunk Anansie), Aqualung and The Vessels.
Uncut Magazine Stage: Richard Thompson, Steve Hackett, Jackie Leven, Peter Case and Marc Carroll.
Dance Tent: Tayo, Scratch Perverts and Freestylers.

Sunday 6th July
Main Stage: Atomic Kitten, The Mavericks, Tom McRae, The Androids and The Jeevas.
Uncut Magazine Stage: Drunk In Public (acoustic Levellers), Oysterband, Thea Gilmore and Steve Wynn.
Dance Tent: Chris Coco, Princess Superstar and Pineapple Tribe.

Plus a stage of local and unsigned acts, comedy and probably some face painting too!

Tickets:
£64 Weekend ticket
£27 - Friday
£32 Saturday
£30 Sunday
£40 Under 15's Weekend
£20 Under 15's day ticket
FREE Under 7's
