End of the Line For Ooberman?
shadyadie by [redacted] May 8th, 2003
Ooberman have dropped heavy hints that the band will be splitting soon.

Having just pulled out of this year's Truck festival, Ooberman band members Andy and Steve have both written unhappy letters to their fans.

"Basically the Oob is to roll no more," explains Steve, "The ambition and love of music is still there - thing is, certain people have gone and done a Kelly. I don't have the full story yet but fact is Dan's had enough, he's split up with Sophia (who also wants out) and is now in the process of closing Ooberman and Rotodisc down [Rotodisc is their own label]. Funny thing is he didn't tell us. Angry? D**n right. Sold a kipper? Yep.
"Is this really the end? Well it's hard to imagine continuing as Ooberman without the two front people of the band being present, but after talking to Andy and Jay there's a strong feeling of unfinished business in the air."

Andy says "'Summer Nights in June' won't be coming out as a single now, but you can still ask radio stations to play it or something else if you wouldn't mind! For old time's sake eh?"

Whether this means the band are definitely splitting is unclear but as they say, it would be hard to imagine them without front people.
