Spiritualized's Triumphant Return
-gen- by Gen Williams July 9th, 2003
It's all systems go in the Spiritualized camp, as the band have announced not only details of their new record deal, but also the imminent release of their new album, as well as a brief UK tour to accompany it.

The band have signed to Sanctuary Records, home of Ministry and Oleander. Their new album, titled 'Amazing Grace ®', will be put out on Spiritualized's J Spaceman's own label, Spaceman Records, through Sanctuary on September 8th.

Of the record, Spaceman says it's "the least constructed and best recorded LP Spiritualized have made. The most important point was to create the energy that you only usually get on live shows. The band had become so electric through playing live, I wanted to be able to capture the best of that experience on the sessions."

The album will be preceded by a series of three 12" vinyl EPs containing the tracks from the album, each released on August 18th and 25th, and September 1st respectively. Meanwhile the band will tour the UK in September, playing the following dates:

September:

Wednesday 10th - Northampton Roadmender
Thursday 11th - Edinburgh Liquid Rooms
Friday 12th - Sheffield Leadmill
Sunday 14th - Brighton Concorde 2
Monday 15th - Bristol Bierkeller
Tuesday 16th - London Electric Ballroom

All tickets are cost £15.00 except (as ever) in London, where tickets will cost £17.50. Tickets are available from usual outlets.
