Beck in Studio, does album, films, videos, dvds, Dallas
gdobson by Gareth Dobson September 12th, 2003
Beck, the man almost unanimously voted turn of this year’s Carling Weekender by DiS writers, has announced that he is set to start work on a new album with long-time collaborators, the Dust Brothers.

The diminutive genius will return to the recording studio this week to begin work on the follow-up to his low-key 2002 album ‘Sea Change’. The Dust Brothers will be joining him on production and engineering duties. The duo produced the bulk of Beck's 1996 album ‘Odelay’ and were also involved on the 1999 record ‘Midnite Vultures’. They also recorded the debut Hanson record. Respect.

Hansen(Beck Hansen, that is) has also revealed on his website that he is to shoot three videos this month for inclusion on a Sea Change’ DVD, which has yet to be given a release date. One of the clips will be directed by himself, with the other two being collaborations with Steve Hanft, who directed previous singles ‘Loser’ and ‘Pay No Mind’.

Hanft also directed the film ‘Southlander’, in which Beck appears alongside fellow artists Beth Orton and Hank Williams III, which will be released on DVD later this year.
