Hotly-tipped London-based female pop band The Soho Dolls have come into a spot of bother with the UK governmental system. Band member Shannon was virtually deported because the home office screwed up her Visa application and has subsequently been sent back to her native China. The band informed DiS that she is fine and expected back soon after the beauracratic red-tape is all cleared up, hopefully in the next fortnight.

Keeping with all things Welsh, Mountain Men Anonymous have announced that their second album 'Krkonose' is due out in March. The band are planning to do a tour of the UK in March/April to support the release (with a short period of time out so the band can go to ATP!). Expect several DiS dates along the way.
To Eastern Europe now with the news that Polish 'death metal prodigies' Decapitated are playing a one-off gig in London to help promote their forthcoming release 'The Negation', due out February 2004 on Earache Records. The show is on December 7th at the Camden Underworld, and is part of The Subverse club, which runs in the afternoon so under 18's can get their rock socks off without breaking any licensing laws.
Southend band Red Nettle have their new website up and running which you can check out here. It contains new MP3's and there are new pictures being put up as you're reading this! After a busy year including a Kerrang! showcase gig, the band are playing one last show on December 2nd at Southend's Chinnerys before going back into the studio for their next release. The band have also told us that their current EP is available again in Virgin Oxford Street after their last batch sold out.
Another Southend band, the ace Redjetson, are also being kept busy. This Friday (November 21st) the band are playing with Seachange and Lapsus Linguae at the Bunkers Hill in Nottingham, and on November 24th the band return to the capital alongside Seachange and The Cribs at The Spitz.
Ipswich poppers Rosco have released details of their new CD. Produced by Mark Thomas (Muse, Supergrass, 22 20s) the CD is now completed and awaiting mastering. The band also have several dates lined up, including a Rough Trade showcase in London on December 2nd at 93 Feet East. Other dates include a support slot with Jetplane Landing at the Norwich Arts Centre on November 24th and a date with B-Movie Heroes in Southampton at The Joiners the following night.
Feline Records are still purring (excuse the pun) about debut release 'If I Knew' from their act Juice. The band have several dates planned around London, including an appearance on November 26th at The Verge on Kentish Town Road, and at the Roadhouse in Covent Garden on December 14th.
After a years absence, it has been let slip that the Thurrock Music Festival (aka TMF) should return in a big way in 2004. The organisers are currently applying for funding to make this year even better than past ones. The last festival in 2002 included the likes of Hell Is For Heroes, Biffy Clyro, InMe and Sugarcoma.
And to round things off this time around, Brentwood-based Arrhythmia Records have announced their debut releases due for the start of 2004. ASOM and Brotherhood OF Funk are due to release full length CDs in the New Year.
