Big In '04 Part IV - Bloc Party to serve up debut platter
gdobson by Gareth Dobson December 17th, 2003
Bloc Party, one of the bands in contention to make The First Big Breakthrough In ‘04, are to release their debut record on 16th February, 2004.

The tautologically intense four-piece will offer ‘She’s Hearing Voices’ to the world on a 7” only format, copies of which are expected to be scarce. The lead track will be backed with ‘The Marshals Are Dead’ and live favourite ‘The Answer’. The record is out on the independent Trash Aesthetics label.

Momentum around the band has been gathering pace in a hectic last few months that has seen the band chased by a pack of A&R suitors and slavering DJs and critics. For good reason too.

Bloc Party recently supported Franz Ferdinand at the Domino Records 10-year anniversary gig, and are currently splashed across the pages of uber cool fashionista mag The Face.

They also play tonight’s Drowned In Sound Christmas Party at the Barfly, Camden Town. Perhaps you should come along.
