double heavyweight vinyl (side four is etched) in a gatefold sleeve with a poster edition of 'horehound' the debut album by jack white's new band the dead weather. it's the first album to be recorded and released via white's new third man studios and record label in nashville, tn. the dirge rock four-piece, consists of celebrated musicians dean fertita (queens of the stone age), 'little' jack lawrence (the raconteurs, the greenhornes), alison mosshart (the kills) and jack white (the white stripes, the raconteurs) with the album a bluesy blend of psych-rock guitar, alternately stark and explosive rhythms and mosshart's sultry-to-siren vocal. think a mix of the gothic swagger of the gun club, the hellfire vocals of pj harvey and patti smith and the riffs and showmanship of the sonics and the stones.
