memphis industries release the debut album 'why there are mountains' from staten islands' cymbals eat guitars. the uk version includes a bonus track 'tungaska' and new artwork. blogland is going gaga over this band and listening to the album it is not hard to see why, soaring indie rock recalling built to spill, pavement and modest mouse with a healthy dose of mgmt's psychedelic pop bombast. these dense songs are loaded with a mixture of dueling guitars, powerful trumpets, and ornate piano that brilliantly combine with the ragged vocals of joseph ferocious.
