Joe Goddard - Harvest Festival
As admirable as Goddard’s synth talents are, it’s hard to discount the notion that Harvest Festival is inferior to any number of Warp acid house and techno releases. Off the dance floor the tunes are too sterile to fully embrace.»

joe goddard releases his solo album 'harvest festival' on greco-roman, the label that he started with 2 other friends. a largely instrumental, electronic album, it winds from woozy ambience to the polyrhythms of london's clubland and back again, and has a strange fixation with fruit. drawing on a number of influences from uk garage, aphex twin, j-dilla, brian eno and of course hot chip, highlights include the beautiful opener 'apple bobbing', the upbeat club track 'go bananas' and the melancholy vocal track 'home time'.
