southern lord is proud to present the cd release of 'razor to oblivion', the ferocious debut ep from seattle's black breath. formed in the winter of 2005 black breath made the move from their native bellingham to stake a claim as seattle's heaviest hardcore band. they made the rounds playing tons of shows, four diy tours up and down the west coast and the midwest, and getting onboard gigs with bands as varied as the accused, book of black earth, zeke, nachtmystium and many more. recorded in january of 2008 'razor to oblivion' was released as a 12 inch on the band's own hot mass records imprint. it quickly drew acclaim for its raw and uncompromising blend of angry hardcore and ripping metal, informed by a steady intake of discharge, poison idea, celtic frost and bathory. it also caught the attention of southern lord label owner greg anderson (sunno)))), a seattle native who automatically responded to the ep's in-your-face immediacy and offered to release the cd version on the label officially.
