hugely anticipated debut album for new zealand quartet so so modern. the band's wide array of musical influences: hardcore punk, no-wave, dance, kraut-rock and electronica have enabled them to create an album brimming with vibrant originality. 'crude futures' showcases their intricate math-rock melodies and complex rhythms over yelping vocals. this is an album most likely to appeal to some of the more technically-minded indie crowd; fans of dananananaykroyd and foals devotees are likely to enjoy this album.
