The Silent League - But You've Always Been the Caretaker

Review by Sam Walby

Across this album's 15-track length there is very little that catches the ear like it should do, especially considering its focus on dynamics, heavy orchestration and varied instrumentation. »

'...but you've always been the caretaker' is brooklyn chamber pop silent league's stunning third album. the elo / talktalk palette of their previous albums is broadened by a sonic playfulness and psyche tropes. the choruses are still huge and arrangements remain as lush and elegant as ever. the bonus cd includes remixes by neon indian, helado negro plus rarities. it comes housed in a thick double digipack sleeve - on something in construction records.
